Artist of the Month - February 2026
Pius Yao
Art is my longtime passion, I can express my feelings, thoughts, or what I want to say through my art. At times I might not be expressive with words or actions, but I can explain it best through art.
My greatest inspiration for my art works derives from travel and wonderful experiences in the past and present. Ever since I have joined the Open Art Studio a few years ago, I have developed stronger confidence and enthusiasm in drawing more abstract art pieces through several mediums, ranging from traditional paints ( oil, watercolour, acrylic ) to drawing tools, ( pencils, ink, Chinese calligraphy and drawing brushes ), at times combining these in mixed media or multi media works for diverse expression.
Furthermore, I want to emphasize that members of the Studio are friendly and approachable. They also exhibit professionalism in exchanging ideas and offering inspirational tips to do better in my drawings.
Art is definitely my passion. Art always makes me happy and I’ll never get tired of doing it.
